Plants always look for sunlight. Without sunlight plants can not photosynthesize. They can make food for themselves and other creatures.
Keep plants away from diseases, weeds and pests (worms, slugs)
Plant enemies such as, fungus, weeds, worms, and insects kill plants by taking space and food from them.
Improve the quality of the soil by forking and fertilizing
Plants become healthier, grow more and are more productive when the soil is rich in minerals and easy access to minerals.
What are fertilizers?
Fertilizers are compounds made to support a plants growth. They are usually mixed with the soil and are absorbed by the plants roots. Fertilizers are either organic or chemical.
The 3 major plant nutrients are nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The secondary plant nutrients are calcium, sulfur and magnesium.
